Båbia is represented in the archive during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar. During this time, he received rations once and also appeared in a debt note, together with his wife, ƒfia-Nanåya-ߺ (Nbk. 129). He worked exclusively with bronze, making objects of various descriptions. He worked in a team with three other smiths who are mentioned in groups of two, three, and four individuals. In addition to Båbia, the team consisted of *Liblu† (OIP 122, 125; UCP 9/1, 37; YBC 9380), *Innin-z™ru-ußabßi (NCBT 631; UCP 9/1, 37; YBC 9380; OIP 122, 124), and *Marduk-ßumu-uΩur (NCBT 631; UCP 9/1, 37; YBC 9380). These three men always appear in this order, but the placement of Båbia varies: he always follows Liblu†, always preceeds Marduk-ßumu-ibni, but can either preceed or follow *Innin-z™ru-ußabßi. See also the entry from *Imbia, which may be a biform of this name.
